\u201cOne day, I\u00a0asked Father Makarios, \u201cDo you still wrestle with the devil?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Father Makarios said, \u201cNo. I used to wrestle with the devil all the time. But now I have grown old and tired, and the devil has grown old and tired with me. So I leave him alone and he leaves me alone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I asked, \u201cThen life is easy now?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Father Makarios responded, \u201cOh, no. Life is much harder now. For now I wrestle with God.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I exclaimed, \u201cYou wrestle with God and hope to win?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNo,\u201d said Father Makarios, \u201cI wrestle with God and hope to lose.\u201d
